DQ90BSQII-JH Top Drive Set a New Record

A unique well was recently finished on the Okhotsk Sea shelf, boasting over 8600 m of measured depth with over 5000 m of plumb line deviation.

To drill this high-tech well SLC-JH used its flagship top drive in Russia – the DQ90BSQII-JH.

Difficult geological conditions of the site require stable top drive performance in order to transfer the required torque at high rotation speed, as well as continuously pumping the high-pressured hydrocarbon-based drilling fluid.

The DQ90BSQII-JH is designed for drilling super-deep oil and gas wells of different purposes both on land and at sea.

The DQ90BSQII-JH is equipped with two 500 kW asynchronous electric motors, which allows for drilling with adjustable rotation speed between 0 and 220 rpm with torque of up to 85 kNm.
